* We Salute You *

This tutorial was written by me 6/17/08.
It was written in PSP XI, but should work
in any version with a few minor adjustments.

Supplies needed:
Tube of choice....also a close-up tube
I am using the amazing artwork of Michael Landefeld
You can purchase a license to use his work HERE

My frame

Brushes

Fonts of choice

Plugin:
Eyecandy 4000, Jiggle & Gradient Glow
Alienskin Xenofex 2, Constellation

Supplies are at the bottom of the page

Open your supplies in PSP
Import the brushes

Open a new canvas 600x650
Floodfill white

Add a new layer
Grab your airbrush tool with color #70805e
Apply all over the layer with these settings

Adjust, blur, motion blur with these settings

Duplicate this layer
Image, mirror
Close out the white background layer and merge
visible the 2 airbrush layers
Set the opacity of this layer to 57
Unhide the white background layer

Copy and paste the frame as a new layer
Grab your magic wand and click inside of
the frame
Add a new layer & floodfill the selection with black
Deselect
Drag this layer under the frame layer

Activate the frame layer
Effects, 3D effects, inner bevel, with these settings

Effects, drop shadow, with these settings

Copy and paste your close up tube as a new layer
Resize as needed
Position in the left part of the frame
Drag this layer under the frame layer
Grab your eraser brush and erase any parts of the
tube that are outside of the frame
Drop the opacity of this layer to 50

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Apply the same drop shadow as before
Position to where it's "sitting" on the frame

Set the foreground to black, background to #6b7c5c
With your block font, type out We Salute You
Position at the top of your tag
Apply the same drop shadow as before

Foreground null, background white
With your script font type out the same phrase
Position over the other text
Effects, Eyecandy 4000 gradient glow with these settings

Apply drop shadow with same settings

Add a new layer
Floodfill with #566548
Selections, select all, selections, modify, contract by 5
Hit delete on your keyboard once
Deselect
Effects, Eyecandy 4000, Jiggle with these settings

With background color set to black, type out your name
with a nice thick font (I used stencil)
Selections, seleect all, selections, float, selections, defloat
Add a new layer
Find the Lyndiebrush009002 and apply with #566548 here
and there to give it the camoflauge look
Deselect

Add any copyright information

* Animation *

Activate the airbrush layer
Add a new layer
Apply the regina star brush004 all around the outside
of the frame

Duplicate this layer 2 times
Name your layers 1,2,3

Activate layer 1
Effects, Alienskin Xenofex 2, Constellation, with these settings

Repeat this with the other 2 layers, hitting random seed
with each layer

Close out layer 2 & 3
Copy merged and paste in AS as a new animation
Close out layer 1 and unhide layer 2
Copy merged and paste in AS after curent frame
Close out layer 2 and unhide layer 3
Copy merged and paste in AS after current frame

Save as a gif and you're done
